Albasia Falcata is a fast growing tree which can be harvested within five to seven years, making it an economic material for producing wood panels such as the Eco-Core Falcata Blockboard. These trees grow well in both high and low rainfall areas on most types of land allowing for maximum efficiency in plantation restoration.

The 5 layer Triple Core Blockboard consists of 41mm wide Falcata strips bonded together and superimposed in a cross pattern and covered with a layer of MDF on each side.

The 3 layer Single Core Blockboard consists of 41mm wide Falcata strips bonded together to form one layer and covered with a layer of MDF on each side.

The boards are light weight - from 350 to 400 kg/m3 depending on the thickness, it is approximately half the weight of MDF. The Falcata Blockboard hold screws very well and is strong and stable due to its construction.

The thicker boards are typically used for internal doors, sliding doors, pivot hinged doors, large conference and meeting tables, long span shelving or high quality joinery/furniture.

It is used as a substrate material suitable for re-veneering or laminating.
