MOSO Tambour is bamboo in a flexible mat form, often applied to cover a substrate panel. Traditionally, bamboo strips were pressed together but Eco-Core® Moso Bamboo Tambour strips are connected in an alternative flexible way by taping the backside and attached to a fabric backing. Transforming the bamboo stem is done by cutting it lengthwise into strips and the outer green skin removed. The strips are then treated against mould and insects. They can be boiled (steamed) so that the sugars burn off and the material turns a caramel brown colour. The strips are then kiln dried, pressed and glued together under high pressure.

The Eco-Core® Moso Bamboo Tambour Forest can be laminated on Eco-Core® White Birch Multiply.
